drugs are stupid II

Also both true stories, I'm afraid.

another unicorn

I used my new photo-sensitizer to burn this image onto a silk screen, which was kind of a pain in the ass, before I thought to ask myself, "what the hell am I going to do with a print of this?  Another t-shirt?"
In an ambitious mood a couple of years ago, I ran off a whole heap of screen printed Ts like the one below (copied freehand from a vintage porn magazine).  Shockingly, no one on etsy.com wanted any part of them and they're currently gathering dust under my bed.

big sleazy slum mural

I spent  I spent a couple days in New Orleans painting in a neighborhood that got bashed by Katrina.  There were a lot of collapsed houses still, and the spray paint marks left by FEMA.  Most of the neighbors were friendly and gave me ideas of what to add to the mural.  One guy bought a wad of crack the size of a baby's fist not five feet from where I was painting, and an older lady in a purple fake fur hat invited me in to see her violet and gold apartment.

Mardi Gras starts well before Mardi Gras day, with parades and debauchery starting about a week in advance. I only went to one, on a Thursday, but it was probably the coolest event I have ever seen in the United States.  Mardi Gras should be on your short list.

Saint Catherine

Here's a very quick comic I doodled out when I went to Italy last summer.  I am almost obsessed with the reliquaries and I took photos of over 100 different ones.  I think I am going to do a book of paintings of them.

Drugs are stupid

Here's a few pages about drugs that I drew in class.  I'm ashamed to say that it's a true story.  I am thinking of doing a whole mini with stuff like this, but I don't want it to seem like I'm bragging about this stuff, even in a self-deprecating way.
